Quantic and his Combo Barbaro
Will Holland aka Quantic will be releasing the first album 'Tradition In Transition' from his new project 'Quantic and his Combo Barbaro' later this year. To go with the release of the album the reknowned photographer B+ has been filming Quantic in and around his studio in Cali, Colombia. We are lucky enough to have been sent a teaser trailer to the film and you can check it out here:

Stonephace In The Independent
Well, we always knew that the Stonephace album was amazing and we're not the only ones. There was a fantastic review in The Independent on Sunday on 19th April and you can read the edited online version here: http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/reviews/album-stonephace-stonephace-tru-thoughts-1671203.html
Domu
Tru Thoughts will be releasing the Domu One Offs, Remixes and B-Sides at the end of June and Full Thought Publishing are very excited to announce that we have signed the publishing for Domu's catalogue. We look forward to working with Domu on his past and new catalogue, expect new music from him very soon!
New Signings!!
We are very happy to announce two new signing to Full Thought Publishing.
AZAXX:
The Gallic DJ/producer Azaxx is a new signing to Tru Thoughts (although a previous track of his, Fiesta Tropical, was featured on a Tru Thoughts Shapes compilation in 2007). His forthcoming album is entitled The Exotic Delight Bay and what an exotic delight it is. Azaxx, a native of Rennes, France, has packed his forthcoming dancefloor-orientated album with the temperature-raising flavours and rhythms that he soaked up on his recent travels in Brazil, and says that most of the song titles were dreamed up while sipping coconut milk (and the rest!) in the Brazilian sunshine. One for the DJs, certainly, but anyone who digs a tasty rhythm will find much to treasure in this album, and for vinyl junkies, the 12inch EP is out on 26th January.
STONEPHACE:
A mind-bending mix of psychedelic jazz and externalist semantics, Stonephace is the result of veteran jazz dissident Larry Stabbins’s collaboration with enigmatic sonic alchemist Krzysztof Oktalski.
Featuring Portishead’s Adrian Utley on guitar and Jim Barr on bass, plus a guest appearance from virtuoso trumpeter Guy Barker as you’ve never heard him before, Stonephace creates a unique universe where electronics, free jazz and Afro-tinged beats collide. Imagine a mix of Sun Ra, Fela Kuti, Pharaoh Sanders and early Soft Machine produced by Jay Dee and you might be getting close.
Fluid Ounce Presents
This has been a very exciting and interesting project for us. We were approached by Fluid Ounce in January. They had an idea to release 90 tracks of unsigned, brand new tracks by up and coming artists but were looking for an outlet as they simply didn't have the capacity to do it themselves. Tru Thoughts and Full Thought Publishing stepped up to the challenge and the result is 'Fluid Ounce Presents...'.
What we believe to be a first of it's kind, 'Fluid Ounce Presents..' is 90 tracks on a DVD-Rom, the tracks are all ready to drop into iTunes and pop straight on your iPod (or similar). We've even made all tracks available as MP3 and WAV files so no timely conversions. Full Thought control all publishing making this the perfect quick all in one sync package.
Available for only £9.99 (Yes, a tenner for 90 tracks!!) from www.etchshop.co.uk as well as all good retailers.

Saravah Soul & Kylie Auldist
More new signings to the Full Thought Roster. We are proud to add two new artists Saravah Soul and also Kylie Auldist.
SARAVAH SOUL:
Exploding out of the rich cultural mix in the melting-pot of London's underground music scene, comes the exciting and original sound of Saravah Soul. This half-Brazilian, half-British outfit has drawn upon unashamedly old-school flavours to create a new genre of raw Afro-Brazilian Funk.
Fronted by fiery break dancer Otto Nascarella, the intensity of their live shows has earned them a reputation for wild performances and a rapidly expanding fan base. Now their ground breaking first album (self-titled Saravah Soul) has caused an international stir amongst record labels eager to sign them, and the band seems set on an unstoppable rise to even wider acclaim.
Formed by Otto Nascarella, Saravah Soul was created to showcase a highly addictive style of late 60's Brazilian soul-funk and samba, to create an exciting and original live flavour. Talented front man, Otto Nascarella, from Curitiba Brazil, combines the showmanship of James Brown with modern breakdance styles, whilst playing guitar and pandeiro; Bass virtuoso Matheus Nova has performed with the likes of Brazilian samba divas Elza Soares and Alcione. Kiris Houston on Keys and guitar has worked with top soul artists incl. Jocelyn Brown and Estelle. Eduardo Marques is one of the most in demand Brazilian drummers in London, and works with top Brazilian artists, such as Ed Motta. Percussionist/flautist Jack Yglesias is legendary on the contemporary funk scene, having played with The Poets of Rhythm, Lee Fields, The Soul Destroyers, Quantic Soul Orchestra and Spanky Wilson. The horn section is led by the sax player Marcelo Andrade, who plays also on Jazzinho (freestyle records).
Kylie Auldist:
Kylie Auldist has been singing from the moment she could speak and after her soulful vocals on The Bamboos album 'Rawville' and spectacular performances while touring with them we instantly signed her up! Get ready for the beautifully soulful music of Kylie Auldist alongside the production skills of Lance from the Bamboos!
In the summer of 2007, The Bamboos returned to the UK for their second European Tour and brought with them Kylie on vocals. Having heard her work on The Bamboos Rawville we were extremely excited about seeing her perform and also secretly interested in seeing if she fancied doing some more tunes.
On hearing her perform Robert Luis got out the magical pen and she signed for a whole bunch of albums, alongside Lance (The Bamboos/Lanu) on production.
Singing since the first day she could talk, with her father on guitar, Kylie is a natural vocal talent. She is half-Samoan but born and bred in the outback of Australia. From the age of fifteen she could be found singing country and western songs in pubs (which for the only non-white in town must have taken some guts! As she said "a bit like the reverse of Steve Martin in The Jerk!"
On moving to Melbourne she joined and performed with a variety of funk bands. She did her apprenticeship in Fitzroy, did loads of gigs, festivals and also TV appearances on Good Morning Australia for seven years (with Aussie icon Bert Newton, who us Brits don't know! But lots of old ladies in Oz do!!). She then joined up with The Bamboos and toured Australia and reached the fair shores of Brighton in the UK where we heard her perform and
signed her up!!
Her track I Don't Wanna Stop with The Bamboos shows her soulful, funk delivery and is a good sign of things to come.
Flevans - Unfabulous Out Now
Retaining the cheeky, dancefloor friendly attitude of his earlier releases, "Unfabulous" additionally benefits from an altogether more polished sound, unashamedly merging his trademark use of eccentric samples with the funkiest of breaks, a smattering of horns, and plenty of wah-wah guitars. Essentially, it has all the ingredients you need to get the party started. In shops 24th of September the new album from a man named FLEVANS!
Buy it from www.kudosrecords.co.uk/jacktophono
Ben Griffith
Full Thought Publishing is delighted to announce that we have added the singer/songwriter Ben Griffith to our roster.
Ben's music is currently being used to promote the new Ford Focus campaign and he releases his first EP on October 29th on Cakewalk Records, and is touring throughout October.
PR below:
Hotly tipped, psych-pop singer songwriter Ben Griffith will release his stunning debut EP; ‘Tea & Sympathy’ on October 29 2007 through his own label Cakewalk Records. A unique blend of folk-tinged balladry and social commentary, ‘Tea & Sympathy’ triumphantly melds the harmonious pop of the Beach Boys with the melancholic indie rock of Gomez or Turin Brakes. Having teamed up with Ford, EP tracks ‘Welcome to My Lifestyle’ and ‘Beat of My Heart’ are both enjoying national radio exposure as the soundtrack to the current Focus campaign.
With media interest in Ben rising and the buzz about his music getting louder and louder, he has gathered his band and will embark on his debut UK tour throughout October. As the Ford Focus engine is fired up – a benefit of agreeing to the campaign was that Ford have provided Ben with his own touring vehicle – the ‘On The Road’ tour will seal Ben’s position as the most exciting and industrious troubadour of his generation. Full UK dates as follows:
UK Tour dates:
Oct 7th Southampton Unit 22
Oct 8th Cardiff Barfly
Oct 9th Oxford Jericho
Oct 11th Exeter Picturehouse
Oct 12th Birmingham Glee Club
Oct 13th Sheffield Fox and Duck
